Susan Stocker and Ray Cobbett at the St. George's Day celebrations in EmsworthHavant Liberal Democrat Chair, Ray Cobbett, and councillors Susan Stocker and Faith Ponsonby were on marshalling duty in Emsworth town centre for the celebration of St. George's Day.

The event, attended by 3000 people, included the presentation of the Imjin Flower to veterans and the 47 battery Royal Artillery, stationed at nearby Thorney Island. The flower commemorates the bravery of soldiers at the battle of Imjin River in the Korean War 58 years ago.

Children from local schools vied with each other to look the most convincing St. George and there was even a fire breathing dragon in one of the shop window displays.

Ray Cobbett said "The 4 days of events was a marvellous celebration that makes Emsworth the special place it is".
