Campaign Pays off: Empty Shops Initiative shown by Lib Dems

Havant Lib Dems campaigned for funding to spruce up empty shops and for action to be taken against landlords who neglect their properties.

The Lib Dem team are delighted that the initiative had been take up. Government funding of £52,000 had been awarded to the Borough and this will be used to improve shop fronts in Leigh Park, Havant, and Waterlooville. Enforcement action will also be taken against landlords who fail to maintain their shop fronts. Local activist Katie Ray said "This will make a real improvement in Leigh Park these empty shops look terrible."
