Ann Buckley attended the Local Government association Conference in Bournemouth
Her first at the Lib Dem group Leader.
Ann said’ it was fascinating to hear the new Lib Dem Ministers speaking about the formation of the coalition. There was also much emphasis on reduced spending by local government. Eric Pickles the new Conservative the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government gave a lively speech and stressed that neighbourhoods are key to service delivery. He has a very broad perspective of local government and we hope to see many powers coming back to the local level.
