Havant Borough Liberal Democrats would like to thank the 9500 residents who voted for our county council candidates on June 4th. Although the Tories share of the vote was well under half the total their candidates took six of the seven vacant seats. Lib Dem, Ann Buckley, held her seat in Bedhampton and Leigh Park leaving Labour trailing in 4th position behind UKIP.
As the only real challengers to the Conservatives, Havant Lib Dems will continue to campaign for constructive alternatives and act as the only elected voice of opposition for 56% of voters who do not support the Conservative-run county council. We are delighted that the our region will be represented by two Lib Members of the European Parliament, Sharon Bowles and Catherine Bearder.
