We are proud to introduce Paul Tansom as the Liberal Democrats campaigner for our area. He has lived in Purbrook all his life, and knows the area very well. He loves sailing, and contributes to this sport as Secretary of the Portsmouth & Langstone Sailing Assn, and is their representative on the Langstone Harbour Board, helping to keep the Harbour safe and conserve the natural environment.
As a keen supporter of Repair, Reuse and Recycle, Paul also volunteers at the monthly Repair Café Havant, helping residents restore their precious possessions.
Paul continues to live with his family in Purbrook, after becoming established in a career in IT. Paul volunteered to be a Governor of both Morelands Primary School and Purbrook Park School. He is passionate about giving our children the best possible start in life. Sadly, Paul’s Dad is now in need of care, and Paul is his primary carer, experiencing the many challenges in the damaged Social Care system that many are also facing.
Paul says: “I have always used my skills to help my community, and know our area needs stronger voices here all year round to really get results.
Please back the local Lib Dems fighting for our area”
Following the resignation of a Conservative County Councillor in March ’23, we have a by-election to be held on the same day as the local Borough elections.
This is an exciting time as currently the Conservatives have control of Hampshire County Council and a Liberal Democrat win will reduce their strangle-hold on the county.
Those people who live in the Purbrook and Stakes South area will each have two votes to cast. The first will be for their respective borough election. The second will be for the county by-election.
Paul Tansom, our local Lib Dem champion, is standing in the Purbrook ward in the Borough elections and is also standing in the County Council by-election for Purbrook & Stakes South.
Antonia Harrison, our local Lib Dem champion, will be standing in Stakes ward.
I have a survey to find out how the people in our are doing during this financial crisis. Please do consider completing it.
Thank you,
Paul Tansom
