Mayday Protest

Our Lib Dem champions were out in force on Saturday 25th March, joining hundreds of other campaigners from the local area. Crowds gathered peacefully and safely from Hayling Island, around the coastline roads, all the way through to West Wittering.

Having been warning of this growing problem for a number of years now, it's heartening to see the local public now taking such an interest and agreeing with us. But of course, none of this would be necessary if the Conservatives hadn't passed laws to allow Southern Water to continue dumping in our seas for a further fifteen years. If enough of the public get behind us, they won't get away with it.

People of all ages joined the protest, calling for infrastructure to be improved, sustainable housing, wildlife corridors, and to future proof housing. Very much on the minds of the protesters at this time are the calls for Southern Water to Stop Dumping Sewage and a desire for clean waters and bio-diversity in our harbours.
