After Havant’s Conservative MP voted to allow sewage to be dumped in our sea, your Lib Dem team is fighting back.

The scandal of sewage being poured into our seas is continuing, with no effective action being taken by the government. Havant swimmers, surfers and other beach and water users have made it clear that isn’t good enough.

“The Conservative Government has the power to take action now. It just chooses not to” explains Lib Dem Spokesperson, Paul Gray.

We've been sold down the river. The Government isn't listening and the water companies aren't interested. It's time to take action.

WILF FORROW, HAYLING ISLAND SEWAGE CAMPAIGNER

"Southern Water are effectively allowed to self-regulate and report their own sewage discharges, but they've been proven to lie, over and over again.  It took the government over a decade to fine them £90 million for illegal discharges back to 2010.

This problem will take time to fix and we need to start right now. The Conservatives are letting everybody down with their inaction.” explains Wilf Forrow.

Stop Sewage Dumping

Water companies pumped sewage into our rivers and lakes more than 400,000 times last year. The Conservatives are letting them get away with it and want taxpayers to pay to fix the problem. Water companies need to clean up their own mess and stop dumping sewage in our rivers and lakes. It's time for a 16% sewage tax on their £2.2 billion annual profits to improve our sewage system and protect our rivers and lakes.
