Don't lose your vote!
If there's a chance you won't be able to get to the polling station on election day, sign up for a postal ballot and the council will send you your ballot through the post.
Important Update: The deadline for returning applications for Postal votes in this year's Local Elections on May 2nd 2024 has now passed. You had until 5pm on 23rd April to apply for a FREE Voter Authority Certificate if you don't have a suitable Photo ID to vote in person. This deadline has now passed too for the election on May 2nd 2024.
If you are unable to vote in person, you can nominate someone to be your Proxy Voter. You can apply to vote by Proxy here if you wish. Depending on the circumstances, it is possible to apply for a Proxy Vote until 5pm on the day of the election, May 2nd 2024.

If you prefer not to apply on-line, you can apply using a paper form which you can download here and return to your local Electoral Registration Office.
